Ximena Mutis Pelaez

/Hee/-/meh/-/nah/ is a Colombian Multimedia Artist based out of Venice, California.
She currently works in the epicenter of the blockchain industry in Santa Monica designing for BLOCKv, a tech company that has invented smart digital goods on the blockchain known as vAtoms. These digital goods combine code with multimedia elements to create interactive User Experiences.
Her love for tech has also led her toward the automobile industry where one of her last projects was for Infinity designing the User Experience for a concept vehicle. Picked to participate in a small team, her role was to research and help design the User Experience for a vehicle which if chosen would go into production. Her team won the project, and here she realized that smart technology and UX design are leading the way to a more responsible and ecological way of life.
Ximena has also been giving back to her community by reaching out to our next generation of girls who are interested in tech.  She has been doing tech talks that focus on Science, Technology, Education, and Math (STEM), but has been adding the Arts and Design to the equation.
She also freelances on the side.
Before receiving her Bachelors of Art Degree in Visual Design and Motion Graphics from California State Northridge, she worked for the William Morris Agency and Beck Media & Marketing, both entertainment agencies in California representing A-list artists across entertainment sectors such as, film, television, music, theatre, advertising, literature, and digital media.
After graduating from college, she worked for Cleopatra Records, a record label in Los Angeles, where she was an in-house graphic designer where she designed CDs, digipaks, vinyl records, t-shirts, and posters for bands. Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine’s April 2012 issue, the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, and The Oakland Museum of California in 2016.
She is fluent in both English and Spanish, has no pets unfortunately, but is able to travel! 🙂
